The Orange Park Art Festival will take place February 9-10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, with free admission and free parking. Dozens of artists and craftspeople will be showing and selling their wares at the juried show, plus food vendors and performing musicians will be on hand.  The event takes place at the corner of Wells Road and Blanding Blvd. in an open parking area of the Orange Park Mall.

Oh sure, there’s a fundraising walk involved.  But think of the free entertainment value!  Dress up your pooch and stroll over to Metropolitan Park Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Dogtoberfest.  In addition to the First Coast No More Homeless Pets benefit walk–which has a $25 admission fee and includes lots of goodies–there are free activities including exercise with your dog, exhibits, live music and giveaways.  Winners of the Dogtoberfest Costume Contest can win great prizes.

Florida State College at Jacksonville students and staff can get tickets to The Rat Pack Show, February 10-12 at Wilson Center, for $12.50 each.  Just go to www.artistseriesjax.org and type in the passcode FRANK to buy tickets at the discounted rate.  Or, you can buy tickets in person at any FSCJ Artists Series box office.  Either way, you’ll have to show an FSCJ ID to pick up the tickets.

This Saturday you’ll find a plethora of local artisans and craftspeople selling their wares at the Riverside Arts Market’s post-Thanksgiving event.  As always, there will be live entertainment and plenty of food vendors. Admission is free, parking is free and the fun goes on from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  You’ll have the opportunity to buy one-of-a-kind gifts, and to do good.  This Saturday the community giving station at RAM is accepting food, household items, supplies and other goods for Aging True, Girls, Inc., the Center for Autism and the Clara White Mission.  Learn more at the RAM website.  Oh, and did we mention Santa will be on hand?  Have your picture taken with the jolly old elf and your donations will benefit the Springfield Animal Care and Rescue Club.

Marshfest 2011 is this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dutton Island Preserve on the Intracoastal Waterway in Atlantic Beach.  Come out for live music, marsh tours, exhibits, demonstrations, walking tours and food.
