The Skyway Express–Jacksonville’s elevated people mover system–is now free for all riders. The 2.5 mile automated transit line goes from downtown to the Prime Osborn Convention Center and across the St. Johns River to San Marco. The line stops near the Museum of Science and History (MOSH), making it a great way to entertain the kids on a weekday excursion.

The theme of this month’s Jacksonville First Wednesday Art Walk is Pet Walk with artists and musicians offering different interpretations of the theme and plenty of furry friends on hand. The Florida Theatre is the official host of the 7th Annual Pet Walk from 5 to 8 p.m. and at 7 p.m. judges will reveal the 2012 Audience Choice Awards. Exhibitors will include a pet wellness clinic, pet adoptions, pet treats and accessories, and other creature comforts.
