National Donut Day — or National Doughnut Day as some  say — is Friday.

Free donuts and donut deals are available June 1 from participating Dunkin’  Donuts shops,  participating Krispy Kreme shops and some other donut vendors.

  • Participating Dunkin Donuts shops are offering a free donut with purchase of a Dunkin’ beverage. Offer is valid at participating shops, while supplies are available. Browse local shops
  • Participating Krispy Kreme Doughnut shops are offering a free doughnuts, with no purchase required. Browse for local shops on the Krispy Kreme website
  • Free contest–Entenmann’s and The Salvation Army are featuring a Donut Day Sweepstakes for free donuts and other prizes. Enter online by June 23,  no purchase necessary

Free Kids Workshop at Home Depot

kids workshopFree activities for youngsters are featured occasionally at Home Depot stores.

The  free hands-on workshop at participating stores Saturday June 2  is building an organizer that kids may keep.  The workshops are available 9 a.m. to noon, usually the first Saturdays of the month.

The workshops are designed for youngsters ages 5 to 12, and include information about tool safety.

Stroll through St. Augustine Friday, June 1 and enjoy the city’s romantic promenades, as well as great art, live entertainment and refreshments, all free, at the Ancient City’s First Friday Artwalk. The monthly social event is sponsored by Art Galleries of St. Augustine (ARGOSA) and lasts from 5 to 9 p.m.  Free train and trolley rides, looping the event locations, are available beginning at 6 p.m.  Check out the ARGOSA website for details.
